Use this fantastic set of exciting resources to learn about the journey of plastic pollution from different sources as it travels through our rivers and into our ocean. Click on different points of the interactive map to take you through to a short introductory video and an activity on each topic, and learn about how we can avoid, reduce, reuse and recycle plastic waste. Topics include balloons, toilets, lunchboxes and bins.
Secondary Schools
By clicking on different points of the interactive map, students can learn how plastic pollution travels through our toilets and drains to rivers and oceans having started life as a balloon, plastic-food wrap, litter, clothing and agricultural materials. Students will also hear about climate change, household waste, how plastic can end up in rock pools, the different sizes of plastic (micro, macro and nanoplastics), plus other fun activities.
